The Christmas Story

23/11/2017 13:04

St Clement's Church, Chorlton, M21 9JF.

Saturday, 9th December 2017 at 7:30 pm.

The Manchester Chorale will be presenting The Christmas Story, a charity Christmas concert in music and words for all the family.

Short readings by choir members – poems, story extracts, anecdotes – will introduce the music. Some will be serious, some light-hearted and humorous that capture the spirit of Christmas and set the scene for the music to follow.

We will be singing sacred and secular Christmas songs – old and new, traditional and contemporary, familiar and unfamiliar – including music by Miskinis (glorious harmonies), Rutter (Shepherd’s Pipe Carol), Gardner (the delightful Tomorrow Shall be My Dancing Day and Pearsall (In Dulci Jubilo).

The Manchester Chorale is a registered charity and we regularly help other charities gather funds to further their good works. We are delighted to support Barnabus in their work for the homeless of Manchester and thank St Clement’s Church in enabling this.

Barnabus is a Christian Homeless Charity, providing a lifeline to the homeless in Manchester for over 25 years. We offer support through our Drop-in, Support Office, Health and Wellbeing Suite, Street Outreach, Allotment, ReNu Up-cycling Furniture Enterprise and Tenancy Bond Guarantee Scheme. Barnabus provides hope and opportunities for transformation. Our aim is to release people from poverty, fear and oppression, empowering the homeless to improve and rebuild their lives sustainably.

Please come to The Christmas Story concert. Help the homeless of Manchester who are in need, particularly at this time of year.
