Manchester bombing

24/05/2017 14:27

The recent atrocity at the Manchester Arena has touched the Manchester Chorale members deeply. As performers, we identify ourselves with the audience who went to what was a joyous occasion that turned into a horrendously unforgettable experience.

At our rehearsal on the day after the bombing, Chorale Chairman John Eaden voiced his sympathy for all those involved and particularly the families and friends of those whose lives were lost or were injured. We had a minute’s reflection in silence.

The Chorale received messages of sympathy and support from the Belgian choir Koor Acantus. They are coming to Manchester to perform with the Chorale on Saturday, 1st July at St Ann’s Church and a midday mass at the Hidden Gem on Sunday, 2nd July. At a time like this, it is heartening to know that they share our grief and incomprehension and we are united in our thoughts for those affected by the attack.
